Mississippi State has released the full 2013 football schedule, shortly following the SEC’s release of the full conference schedule for 2013. State’s schedule sets up as pretty as you could want it to if you’re a State fan, as there will be a neutral site game, the coveted 7 home games, a trip to South Carolina, and another challenging November. Well, we may not all want the challenging November. The schedule looks as follows:

State’s schedule, in addition to 7 home games and a neutral site game, also features two bye weeks, which is something we certainly haven’t seen in awhile. Overall, the schedule shapes up to be a little bit more balanced than the 2012 schedule, with Oklahoma State and LSU included in the first half of the season. Looking tentatively at the schedule, if State could win the opener in Houston and beat what should be a down Auburn team on the road, things could shape up for a big home showdown with LSU in the 5th game of the season. State would also be going into that game off of a bye week, which doesn’t hurt either.

State’s schedule also keeps Kentucky as the Bulldogs’ cross-divisional permanent rival, and adds South Carolina as the temporary east matchup. State was slated to make this trip to Columbia in the 2012 season, but the addition of A&M and Missouri caused that return trip to be postponed. State will also visit College Station for the first time since A&M joined the SEC, and the Dogs will again face Arkansas in War Memorial Stadium perhaps the worst facility in the SEC.
